Dr. Scott Pouyat
Dr. Scott Pouyat completed his undergraduate work at Villanova University and his graduate work at the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Upon completion of his graduate work, Dr. Pouyat did externships at the Joslin Diabetes Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, and the Omni Eye Services of Atlanta. Dr. Pouyat has extensive ocular disease and post surgical experience including co-management of diabetic, hypertensive, post-cataract, post-refractive surgery and glaucoma patients. He has also been extremely successful with his contact lens patients such as high astigmatism patients, bifocal, dry eye patients and previous contact lens failure patients.
Dr. Travis Been
Dr. Travis Been earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Wisconsin and received his Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry. He holds memberships in the American Optometric Association and Illinois Optometric Association. In addition to his training in primary eye care, Dr. Been is experienced in the areas of pediatrics, contact lens, and the treatment of eye diseases and infections.
Dr. Been is passionate about delivering the highest quality healthcare to his patients and understands that eye health can be a direct reflection of one’s overall health. With that in mind, Dr. Been makes it his mission to not only help his patients see their very best, but to act as an ambassador for their overall health. Above all else, Dr. Been loves to makes people smile and is excited to serve the Lake County community.
In his spare time, Dr. Been loves to play the piano and listen to classical music. He is an avid Chicago Bears fan, despite being born and raised in Wisconsin. He also enjoys golfing, rollerblading, and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Maja Hadziahmetovic
Dr. Maja Hadziahmetovic earned her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry. She obtained an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Loyola University Chicago. Dr. Hadziahmetovic is a member of the American Optometric Association and Illinois Optometric Association. During her optometry externships, Dr. Hadziahmetovic completed a clinical rotation in primary eye care and ocular disease management at the William V Chappell Jr. Veterans Outpatient Clinic in Florida, advanced care training at the Swagel Wootton Hiatt Eye Center in Arizona, and a clinical rotation in contact lenses at Davis Eye Associates in North Carolina. While at the Illinois Eye Institute, she received clinical training in vision rehabilitation, pediatrics and specialty contact lenses. Dr. Hadziahmetovic enjoys providing eye care to patients of all ages, and has a special area of interest in pediatrics, contact lenses, and ocular disease. She is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to her patients. Dr. Hadziahmetovic enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
